Sandy Seidel has served as an Association Dean in the Undergraduate Advising Office in the College of Arts and Sciences since 2005. She teaches a course on human biology for the Biology Department and two COLAs—College Advising Seminars for first-semester first year students—one on cardiovascular physiology and another on mindfulness. Sandy earned a B.A. in Biology from the College of William and Mary and an M.E. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from U.Va.
 
As Director of Studies for the International Residential College (IRC), Sandy works with the Principal, the IRC Professorial and Community Fellows and the IRC Council to build a caring and mindful residential community. She teaches the course INST 2500: Mindfulness Practices at the IRC in the spring semester that is open to all undergraduate students.
