Lauren is a fourth-year student studying Anthropology and Global Public Health. After graduation in May 2018, she hopes to become a Double-Hoo and earn her Masters of Public Health. Lauren became interested in contemplative practices after conducting field research in Cape Town, South Africa during the summer of 2015. There she explored the way personal beliefs factor into health-seeking behavior and health efficacy.
Lauren is a research assistant for the CSC's Student Flourishing Initiative (SFI). In addition, she is the Outreach Intern with the UVA Peer Health Educators (PHEs). Through her work with the PHEs, Lauren has developed a passion for health promotion and health education. SFI is, therefore, a perfect bridge between her interest in health and contemplation.
