Amidst Earth Week festivities, join the CSC on April 20th for a day of contemplation. Activities include meditation, yoga, and other contemplative practices. All events are free and open to everyone. See below for the full schedule!

11:00 am – 2:00 pm | Pause for 5: Meditation on the Lawn | The Lawn
Take just 5 minutes out of your day and join members of Contemplation at UVA on the Lawn for a session of relaxation and mindful eating with delicious snacks and an opportunity to enter into a raffle to win prizes from our sponsors. Meditations (with food) will focus on awareness, relaxation, connection with nature, and conclude with ways you can take action on a daily basis to promote a healthy and sustainable planet. 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm | Yoga in the Garden | Garden 1
Come enjoy an afternoon in nature and explore the deep connection between body, mind, and the natural world through a gentle yoga class designed for all levels and abilities. Please visit here for more information.
7:00 pm – 10:00 pm Composting Panel and Landfill Harmonic Film Screening | Monroe 130
Join UVA students at 7 pm for a reception and info session on two new compost pilots occurring on grounds! Come learn how residential programs in Brown and the International Residential College enable students to divert significant organic and paper waste from landfill. Then at 8 pm, join Contemplation at UVA for a screening of the 2015 documentary film “Landfill Harmonic” which follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group that plays instruments made entirely out of garbage. The film is a testimony to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit. Please visit here for more information.
