Rotunda Contemplative Practice Series 2018
Join Reverend Neal Halvorson Taylor for this session exploring the Christian-based contemplative practice of kenosis, the act of self-emptying, surrender, and letting go. This talk and practice will examine the roots of Christian contemplation and explore the art of self-emptying and surrender as a contemplative practice.
Neal Halvorson Taylor is Senior Advisor for Sustainability at Morven Farm at the University of Virginia. He is part of the programming team that manages the Morven Summer Institute, the Morven Kitchen Garden, the Young African Leaders Initiative, UVA research projects based at Morven, and other programs related to the practice of sustainability. Neal is also an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America pastor who currently serves as vicar of Grace Church, Red Hill, an ecumenical community in the Episcopal tradition.
This program is part of CSC's 6-week Rotunda Contemplative Practice Series. It is open and free to everyone. Please arrive early, there is no registration for this series.
